Are there any vitamins that can help counteract some of the side effects of antipsychotic drugs?

I've heard that vitamin c and e can help. Are there others and are there case studies on this sort of thing? Also, the side effects that i am trying to counteract are all neural or mentally related such as memory, concentration, and quickness of thought.

Are there any vitamins that can help counteract some of the side effects of antipsychotic drugs?
I'm bipolar %26amp; have real depressed spells too. I have to take several different antipsychotic drugs. I take a multivitamin, B-Complex (very good for mental health). Also fish oil (Omega 3 oils)., Vitamin C %26amp; garlic. You can find books that can help you out with that. Natural Healing is a real good book for that. Ask the lady at the bookstore counter!
Reply:Please educate yourself on the harmful effects of these drugs.

Your memory, concentration etc, your brain, will work better without the pollution of these drugs.

This book, The Vitamin Bible, has tons of info!

Reply:Cogentin is usually good enough by itself for manging the side effects from anti-psychotic drugs like Abilify.

I'm taking Cogentin tabs 2ice a day now, along with Lexapro and Seroquel (antidepressant and anti-psychotic, respectively), and they're working fine.

I'm no doctor, but I've heard from some sources that people on anti-psychotic or antidepressant drugs should avoid vitamins and any kind of health supplements while on the drugs unless approved by their doctor, due to possible negative reactions of the drugs and supplements.
