What would be your ideal vacation in California?

My husband and I are planning for a 5 days trip. We are from Los Angeles and we have thought of:


a. Catalina Island


b. Santa Barbara


c. Monterey Bay


d. Grand Canyon





Let me know your recommendations to help us decide our trip. Thanks. Serious answer highly appreciated. We just got married 4 months ago and did not really have time to have our honeymoon. So, this is some sort of honeymoon for us.

congratulation!! The Sierra Nevada would be nice if you just want to consider California. I would do Mammoth Lake -%26gt; Yosemite -%26gt; Lake Tahoe -%26gt; Napa -%26gt; Monterey Bay; however, a lot of driving tho. If you just want to stay in a same area, Mammoth Lake and Yosemite, they are about 2 hours apart. Or Lake Tahoe and Napa, and when you come back to LA, drive by Monterey Bay. Of course, I am thinking that you will be driving instead of flying. Have fun!!
Reply:take the west coast hwy up past San Francisco, then staying on the coast drive up to Mendocino. That area is very beautiful and there are several romantic Bed %26amp; Breakfast Inns there to stay at.


They can be found on the internet, search "Mendocino B%26amp;B".


They are a little pricey but well worth it if you can afford it. There are great local restuarants there at reasonalble prices. Lots of outdoor activities nearby if you are the outdoor type.





We've been to lots of romantic areas but that's our favorite in Ca. We usually go there in Oct. %26amp; have had great weather then, with low crowds.
