What do you think of the TV show, "The O.C."?

Personally I don't like this TV show. It's a false image of what O.C. is really all about. I lived a part of my life in Orange County and let me tell you that it is not nearly as glamorous a place as they make it out to be. The O.C. that I know of is a nasty overcrowded, polluted, crime ridden area with dilapidated schools and some of the rudest people on earth.

Sure there is Irvine, Corona del mar, and Newport Beach. But the kinds of people that live in those places are either white or asian. They don't have a lot of Teenagers living out there. It's mostly for successfull businessmen. Either Young Couples or retired peoples.

Huntington Beach is OK but what a crappy place it is now. You need to pay $10 just to park your car at the beach. What a dump. The waters off of the coast in O.C. are suspect and very very polluted with bacteria and all sorts of garbage run off through the strom drains. The surfers get sick with unexplainable disease all the time. Santa Ana sux.

What do you think of the TV show, "The O.C."?
it sucks man, i tell everyone this when they wanna know what was on the last O.C. cuz it's what happens everytime:

Last night on the O.C.!!

The one brown haired guy got in a fight with the corey blonnd dude. The girl cried. Then there were shots of the beach.

Next week on the O.C.!!

The one brown haired guy got in a fight with the corey blonnd dude. The girl cried. Then there were shots of the beach.

the real orange county places are becoming populated with either old people or vietnamese people. walk through garden grove one day and try to find an american laundromat. good luck. be sure you dont wander into little saigon. (an actual town in orange county for ppl who dont know)
Reply:I liked it. It doesn't matter if it represents well the area or not. It's fiction. They make it look nice, that's what's nice about watching it. I wouldn't want to see it if they showed the crappy place you described, or if instead of the young and glamourous ones they showed rude retired people. If that's what i wanted, i would watch grumpy old men or something.

Sure it's not productive to watch a show like this, but neither is watching anything else that's on tv. It's just entertainment. This show kept me entertained. I liked it a lot and am actually bummed that it's over.
Reply:i hate the oc....i am so happy that it is over....me, i prefer one tree hill. yeah, it is very dramatic, but its in a somewhat small town. its different than all those clone shows. thats why i like it. and they do a lot of good things for the community, like charity basketball games and they donated some of the proceeds of one of the cd's to breast cancer. they really care about the issues going on in the world today.
Reply:Too 90210-ish if you ask me.
