My girlfriend has just told me that eating sea food and taking vitamin C at the same time or close to one another can combine to form some sort of poison, apparently causing internal bleeding. Is this actually true?
Seafood + Vitamin C = Poison??
Uh, no.
You just ate sushi and ate some seaweed with it. Seaweed contains some form of Vitamin C, so has anyone died yet?
Reply:ugh no, in the morning people would have fish for breakfast and have a glass of orange juice, orange juice has a lot of vitamin c and nothing happens to them
Reply:The only adverse effect with vitamin C, is that it increases iron absorption by up to 30 percent. This only means that one monitors ones iron intake, as there are problems with taking in too much iron as well as not getting enough.
But there is no evidence of any kind that C and seafood will cause problems.
