What is a C-Section and epidural like?

I always think about C-Sections and they seem so scary! I have a huge panic disorder and even the epidural sounds scary to me! What do they both feel like? Is it something I am possibly going to have a huge panic attack during or does it sort of calm you down? The though of not feeling my whole body scares me!!!

What is a C-Section and epidural like?
They can be a bit scary. I had three C-sections with epidurals, so I'm not sure how an epidural with a normal birth feels, but I know it's different because they use more medicine with a C-section.

An epidural feels like a really big pinch in your back, the worst part about them is they make you really nauseas. If you get enough for a C-section you don't get your entire body numb, but it is from about the ribs down. You can feel some things, what I remember feeling in my C-sections was some pulling sensations and some pressure, but no pain. Both as you go numb and as you get feeling back you have tingling or tickleing feelings, like when your foot falls asleep.

My first was *really* scary because it was an emergancy, but the other 2 weren't so bad. I knew what to expect. Really though, I was so worried about the baby I didn't have the energy to worry enough about myself to get into panic attack mode. If it comes down to it and you end up with one, just focus on your baby, you'll be fine.
Reply:In my opinion the epideral is far worse than the c-section. I had to have a spinal for my c-section and that hurt worse than anything, the c-section isn't bad at all you have no feeling from your breasts down so you don't feel anything.
Reply:I have had both types of births. A c-section w/ my twins and a vaginal birth w/ epidural with my son. The c-section was far worse, hearing the sucking, feeling the pulling, etc. I hated it. But that is my personal opinion. I am pregnant again and will be doing the vaginal delivery. Besides my husband put it: THE BABY IS SUPPOSED TO COME VIA VAGINAL DELIVERY
