Where can I find small development projects that could be used as a learning experience for beginning coders?

I'm new to the world of software development. I am currently learning and practicing with the C programming language. What sort of development projects can I look for and participate in that will help me to learn to code and design better?

Where can I find small development projects that could be used as a learning experience for beginning coders?
For free sourceforge.net.
Reply:Hi there! Well I just went to Nonags.com today to download some wonderfully safeware (and free to boot! heh heh) But while I was reading the descriptions in the Games category there was a 3D game that required a little coding knowledge and the author requested that if you did play his game that you send him a brief description of what/how you liked it. So I was a little intimidated and decided not to download. But in your case I would think that would be just the thing you might be looking for! With personal support from the actual coder himself. If not check it out anyways, especially in the "misc./for Educational purposes" programs categories (toward the bottom of the page of categories). I am sure you'll find lots of fun programs to hone your coder skills on! Plus all their programs have been checked for spyware and viruses prior to their release on the site. PLUS IT'S FREE! Hope you enjoy it as much as I continually do!
