I had my first child almost 5 months ago,an emergency c-section, and since then I have experienced irregular menstrual cycles.I get 2-3 a month, and I have been on birth control for 3 months now and am not breastfeeding.I read that it is normal to have some sort of bleeding but they said being on birth control should help. Also now every time I am getting ready to start my entire stomach region aches.I'm exhausted, I know partly because I have a 5 month old but unusually tired, lacking any kind of motivation, do u think this could be from my never ending periods?Has anyone else experienced this?My doctor doesn't seem to be any help.
After c-section, has anyone experienced irregular periods?
It's not unusual, after childbirth(via vaginal delivery or C/S) to have a time of readjusting to your hormones. However, since you're not breastfeeding and have been using oral contraceptives now for three months, you should be into a regular pattern again. More than likely, a change in the birth control pill you're using should get you regulated. This is a fairly common occurrence and I'm disappointed that you're Dr's office isn't more willing to offer something different based on the symptoms you're having. Please call them again, describe the problem and suggest a change in pill which may be a "better fit" for you and perhaps even make an appointment to see someone. Yes, it's exhausting being the mommy of a five month old, but you could be anemic from giving birth or from the irregularity with which you're bleeding. If they remain unresponsive, it may be time to find a new Ob/Gyn. Take care and enjoy your little one.
Reply:I've had three c-sections but after the last one four months ago I bleed a lot and i can't predict when it's coming i saw my doctor he gave me iron supplements but no explanation why this is happening.I am always tired to that's why I'm on iron talk to your doctor or see someone else for a secon opinion.good luck with the new baby.
Reply:it could be the birth-controll, then again after everybaby u have it throws ur cycle off it can take up to a year for everything to get back to being normal but u may talk to ur doctor and see if they can switch the birth contoll ur on now to something different and see if that will get things back to normal. but it sounds to me that its the birth controll that is affecting u this way, most of the time birth controll helps with cramps and is supposto get your periods on track
