Both of my children were born by caesarian section due to complications in labour. The first scar was nearly invisible and very thin after about a year.
When my daughter was almost 4, my son was born. I remember the nurse saying that the Dr. was really good and would cut out the old scar (around it) when he operated, but he didn't. He cut right on the old scar and it is now over 1/4 inch wide. I also feel a sort of stretching pain in the area on occasion.
Is this normal? Should I talk to my Dr. about it?
My son is now 4, and I am the same size and weight (125 lbs) as I was before my pregnancy.
Any women out there experience stretching of a c-section scar?
Mine itches a lot. My doctor cut just above the old scar with my second. My kids are 2 1/2 and 17 months. I would ask the dr. if they can do a reconstruction if you have another baby. I'm sure if you want it done and don't want more kids he'll send you to a plastic surgeon and it'll be a bit of $$$.
Reply:After my c-section, I had pain from adhesion's, the next pregnancy stretched and popped all those nasty things, maybe that's what your feeling, adhesion tension. I've heard about ppl having a scar that stretches. When in doubt talk to the doctor, always.
Reply:I have started using Mederma and it works a bit. It is thinner then it was. I can wear bikini under ware again!
