First time M.A.C buyer.. what to look for?

There is no m.a.c near me. So I am ordering online.

I have tan skin from a trip, but it is usually really pale. So a versatile look is nice. I have super blonde hair and super blue eyes.

What sort of things are good for beginner users of mac? I'm not so sure that I will be buying blush or foundation, but what else is there?

First time M.A.C buyer.. what to look for?
I love MAC, and there are so many great things I could recommend, but there are so many different, great looks you can achieve.

If you'd like to buy lipstick and lipgloss you can go here: http://www.temptalia.com/lip-comboscombi...

You can see pictures of some of MAC's lipglass and lipstick already on someone's lips (and she put the name of what she used under each photo), and buy what you like most.

Also on that website, you can look at tutorials for smokey eyes, and just about any other look out there (with MAC's products...also tells you what brushes she used to apply the eye makeup): http://www.temptalia.com/category/tutori...

There is also a tutorial for glowing cheeks: http://www.temptalia.com/tutorial-glowy-...

And for contouring: http://www.temptalia.com/tutorial-contou...

...For eyebrows, applying foundation, etc. Just about a tutorial for everything. That way you can know what you're buying, and what it will probably look like on you, before you buy it. And you also get some great makeup tips at the same time.

Good luck.
Reply:Oh I love MAC, where do I start?!;) I would say Viva Glam V lipglass, great neutral. Lipliners in Stripdown %26amp; Spice go with so much. Springsheen blush is the best, gives you a healthy pinky/peach to your cheeks. Their lipsticks are wonderful too, I have so many of them but for a nice neutral I would say Viva Glam V again, High Tea, or Velvet Teddy. They have their new N Collection out with some great neutrals. Love their eyeliner %26amp; fluid eyeliner. Love their eyeshadow too, my favorite is their warm eye palette in the Royal Assets collection. You may want to check out the cool palette, has some great colors for blue eyes. If you do get foundation from them Studio fix fluid w/ spf 15 is nice %26amp; love their pressed blot powder. Their on-line live help is awesome, they are always helpful. Also you can get reviews on makeupalley.com, which I use alot before I buy. hth, have fun shopping!:)
Reply:The plush lash mascara is amazing, and its only $10
Reply:If you go to the site they offer an online Chat with a makeup artist who can assist you with whatever look you are looking for.
Reply:The foundation is great i would go for the eye shadows and the lip glosses are kinda thick depending on which one you choose. The MOISTURIZER are good before I didn't wear any but i got it and it keeps my skin from being dry and my skin is so soft , BUT if you buying on line i would watch the foundation u need to go there n have them put it on your skin and see which one fits, over all MAC is good.

Where do you live ?
Reply:I love the Lipglass, you have to try it.

Also I use the Studio Fix Foundation (in a powder compact). There is a mirror and a sponge that comes inside with it.

Other favourite products: MAC Zoomlash mascara, the eyeshadow colours are amazing but if you get them I totally recomend getting the primer as well because the colour shows up so so much better, and I also love the brushes.

Congrats on choosing MAC.
Reply:lipglass is a must.

their foundations usually break most people out.

eyeshadows are a must.

if you are into lipsticks, they are great just don't get the frost ones.

MAC has a new collection called N (for neutral), has some great stuff.

eyeliners are good too. especially fluidlines, but you need a brush for those.

ahh have fun shopping!
Reply:Since your a beginner, I'd advise only buying the basics.

Some eyeshadow, mascara and lip stick. Try it out.

I'd go with light brown eye shadow, I really like the paint pots, black mascara, blue, brown or black eyeliner and for lipstick, either go with "myth" or "1n". You can get cheaper brushes at other places, ex: Medusa's Makeup. Same with foundation, theirs is 30.00 for a small bottle where as you can get Revlon [personal favorite] for 10.00 at a drug store and there you are able to actually see the real colors. (Not all mac colors are how they are pictured on the website). You can also talk to a rep. "Click "Live Chat" and they can really help you.

Edit://

Just thought I'd also say that when I first bought MAC, they told me that it is smart to buy the basics first then go back once a week or when you have the money and try another item, ex: blush, lipglass, concealer etc..
