Natural or c-section?

I am expecting twins and have the option of choosing natural delivery or to have a c- section. each seem gruesome and ideally some sort of teleportation device to get these guys out would be ideal, but with the lack of such scientific advances, these are my choices and I am having trouble deciding so pro's and con's from anyone who has had either or both might help alot!

Natural or c-section?
If there are no complications with the babies or you then at least try for a natural delivery. If something happens during delivery, there is always the option for c-section at that time. C-section has such a long recovery time and with twins, you need your energy back as soon as possible. Congrats and good luck.
Reply:I have had both (no twins though) and the natural delivery was by far a much better experience. If your doctor has given you the option, she must think you have a good chance of delivering vaginally, so you should go for it! The recovery from a c-section is such a slow and long process (and more painful). You're going to have 2 babies to care for, so you need to be feeling your best ASAP! Try for a vaginal, you won't regret it. Good luck!
Reply:I personally would go natural as i did with all of my births, your body heals alot faster than a C-section which will have you down for a while. Staples in your stomach, which can get infected as did with a friend of mine and she had more trouble than if you go natural. She was very sore for a long time, hurt to laugh, cough, and sneeze, and hard to get comfortable. And I used no type of meds for pain and no epid.
Reply:Natural as you will be up and about straight after the labour, C Section you cant really do much for weeks and weeks, plus you actually can experience the birth, i know so many women that regret the c section as they dont feel like they really gave birth, you can always opt for the drugs if the pain of a natural birth gets too much.

Good luck
Reply:Natural i would say to go.

I had c-section and hated it especially once i left hospital and hubby returned to work and it was jsut me and baby at home.

i wasnt ment to lift anything heavier than my baby but the washing and housework needed to be done and it wasnt possible to wait the 6 weeks before i could lift these type of things.

Also after a c-section u are not allowed to drive for the first 6 weeks apparently. ( i dont drive so it didnt applie to me).

Im currently TTC baby #2 and i know that unless the medical team say i have to have c-section i will be goin natural.

Had planned natural for 1st but due to medical reasons a emergency c-section was needed asap.
Reply:Well, I only have one child but I went natural with him. I'm actually soooo glad that I did! I know a lot of women want to opt for a C-section because they would rather not 'destroy' their female area! BUT THAT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN! Everything goes back to normal in no time at all. I would say... try natural... what do you have to lose? If it's not working out then your doctor could still end up giving you a C-section! As far as effects from C-section... from what I've seen in a few friends of mine, well, they loved that way. The scar faded but they seemed to be in much more pain after delivery (due to the staples). But I've noticed either way the body seems to bounce back pretty well. Go with whichever you think is right for you! Best of luck to you! I wish you well!
Reply:I had an emergency c-section, as he was breached. I went through labour and actually got to 10 centimeters. The epidural is fantastic...I slept through labour. I slept through the c-section too. The recovery is longer for c-section. Especially when you need to care for your baby, and you aren't supposed to lift anything.
Reply:i am a mother of three children and have had them all naturally i am going to be induced tomorrow with our forth and i would say that if you can have them naturally then that is what you should go for i know that it may be longer but you will recover better and quicker than you would if you had a c section xx good luck x
Reply:ive had 5 naturals and one cesar and if i had any more i would opt for a cesar i didnt mind it honestly it wasnt a bad experiance for me and its over in an hour with natural you dont know how long its going to take good luck to you and the twins
Reply:if there is no risk i would go natural cause after a c section you cant do as much and with twins you are going to be busy did the doctor say why there giving you the choice
