i'm currently in the 10th grade.

What kind of grade do i need to become a Judge?
To become a judge you have to graduate from college, then go to law school. Once you graduate from law school you have to take and pass the Bar association exam to become a practicing lawyer. Some judges are appointed (i.e Federal judges) and some are elected. But nonetheless you have to be a lawyer first.
Reply:Grades normally dont really matter.

Some are elected, others are appointed.

You have to first be an attorney who is registerd with the BAR

So at this point, you get out of high school, got though college , perhaps in a political science degree, then you go to law school, graduate law school and start private practice.

You make alot of friends in the political area, maybe run for office.

yes it is a very hard job, I have several friends who are judges, they work long hours, making hard choices.
Reply:all A's because your SAT is coming up and part of it is based on your grades. Also, you need good grades to get into a law school. You need to be a lawyer before becoming a judge.
Reply:You must be a prosecutor for 5 years minimum
Reply:What you have to do to be a judge depends upon your state. Each one has different experience requirements for being a judge. Some states will still allow non lawyers to run in an election, but most don't.

So, A's and B's will get you into a good college where you can study any subject you want, there is no required Bachelors for Law School. A good college (and more A's and B's) will get you into Law School. Then in whatever state you are, you will have to take the Bar exam. If you pass, you then have to be a lawyer for whatever the minimum time is (in CA it is 10 years).

After that you can run for one of the judge positions that come up for election (generally it's hard to beat an already sitting judge - but not unheard of and then there are some where the judge retires). Or you can ask the governor to appoint you to a position where the judge retired or left before their term was up. Each state has different things and procedures that the governor wants. Then you will have to be in an election every so many years to continue being a judge.

Federally you get appointed by the president and it's kinda the same thing as the governor's appointment, but much more about who you know.

It is a very hard job and at times a very rewarding job, but not one where most of the people who want to be one get to be one.

Best of Luck to you!!!!
Reply:you need good grades to go to law school, then you need to do excellent in law school
